Our activities will take place at both the KIT Royal Tropical Institute (main conference) and ARTIS (associated events and festival). These are both located in central Amsterdam, with a short walk between them. The Tropen Hotel is associated with the KIT and conveniently located next door (with only a limited number of rooms available—so, BOOK ASAP!)
KIT Royal Tropical Institute
Based on a national heritage site in Amsterdam, KIT Royal Tropical Institute is a non-profit, independent centre of expertise and education, dedicated to sustainable development, international collaboration, and intercultural cooperation
“Knowledge for a Sustainable World”
In close alignment with the guiding principles of inVIVO Planetary Health, KIT takes the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a general framework for action, KIT provides innovative and practical solutions for low- and middle-income countries—focusing on key areas to make a difference, such as global health, gender equity and agriculture.
We are pleased to also be collaborating with ARTIS-Micropia--the world’s first public museum of microbes—celebrating microbes as the foundation of all ecosystems. This provides new perspectives on personal and planetary ecology, including novel solutions to human and environmental health challenges.
“Discover the most powerful life on earth.”
The museum provides a platform to bring the knowledge and wonder of diverse microbial systems to life in captivating and educational ways—encouraging visitors of all ages to see themselves and their connection with the world around them in dynamic new ways.
We will have the opportunity to visit both Micropia and the wider ARTIS campus during the meeting! There is also a planned public lecture at the ARTIS Planetarium--all within an easy walk from the KIT.
